Yoga equipment

Yoga equipment is not necessary to practice yoga, but it does aid yoga study in a variety of ways. Certain items help with hygiene while others help a practitioner perform certain exercises. Still other yoga accessories simply reduce the amount of distractions so that a person can remain focused.

Yoga mats are a common form of yoga equipment. These can provide cushioning as well as prevent slipping during yoga practice. They are also great to prevent the spread of germs, especially in a public studio environment. Many yoga bags are shaped specifically to hold yoga mats.

Other examples of yoga equipment include blocks and wedges. These aid a yoga student in being well aligned during certain poses. They are a great tool to reduce any strain or discomfort. Stretching aids are also wise purchases to prevent any injury during yoga class.
